Eagle Catcher

Size: Life-Size

Price: $65,000

The Eagle Catcher was an honored, elder member of the tribe. No longer a warrior, he dared to hide under leaves and grass offering a dead rabbit as bait for an eagle. When the eagle seized the rabbit, the brave grasped its leg and offered his protected arm to engage both talons. With his free hand, he plucked feathers from the eagle’s tail. Blessed by the shaman, these became sacred objects used in lance and bonnet decorations. This monumental bronze was developed in cedar, then molded in silicone rubber, filled with wax and cast in bronze by the lost wax method.
